Box Score LOS ANGELES, Calif - San Diego men's tennis (8-9, 5-2 WCC) defeated LMU (6-10, 3-4 WCC) 4-2 on the road Friday afternoon. 

"Great cultural effort by this group today.", said head coach Ryan Keckley.  "We have faced adversity all year and to get a win with only five players on the road speaks volumes of the leadership that we have on this team." 

Keckley switched up his usual doubles pairings and the team responded by clinching the doubles point. David Norfeldt and Marvin Schaber defeated their doubles opponent 6-2 on court two and the point was clinched by August Holmgren and Nico Borter who won 6-4 on court one. 

"We embraced the big moment and really capitalized on the momentum we created," said Keckley. 

Heading into the singles play, LMU tied the match at 1-1 due to a walkover forfeit at court six but Norefeldt put San Diego back ahead with a quick 6-1, 6-2 win in the No. 3 position. August Holmgren won his 13th match of the season with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 1 spot which put the Toreros ahead 3-1. 

LMU cut the lead to 3-2 with a win on court four but Garrett Kurtz clinched the match for San Diego, battling back from a first set sweep to win 0-6, 6-1, 6-2. 

San Diego will finish up its Los Angeles swing on Sunday when they take on No. 30 Pepperdine at 2:00 p.m. (PT) in Malibu.
