Toreros Look to Break Through Against Tigers

San Diego hopes to keep series winning streak alive versus Pacific

SAN DIEGO - San Diego women's soccer (1-7, 1-6 WCC) will face Pacific (1-7-2, 1-5-1 WCC) on Saturday afternoon at noon (PT) on the road in Stockton, Calif.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Toreros return to the pitch after a 7-0 loss to Pepperdine in Malibu, Calif. 
  • San Diego was on target with four of their five shots, marking a new season-high 80 percent shot on goal percentage for the Toreros. 
  • Each shot on goal was registered by a San Diego newcomer with one each from freshmen Juliet Anawalt, Maronne Suzuki, and Lexi Kaz, and one from junior transfer Mia Ramirez. 

ENDURANCE CHALLENGE
  • Four Toreros are averaging more than 80 minutes played per game: senior Mina Ghazizadeh (86.25), freshman Leah Pirro (81.75), freshman Katie Baxter (81.25), and sophomore Sydney Hopkins (83.14).

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
  • Pacific notched a 2-0 victory against LMU last week for their first win of the season. 
  • The Tigers' lineup has been consistent with seven players starting all 10 matches. 
  • Ryanne Molenaar is the player to watch for Pacific, recording five points on two goals and an assist.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
  • This will be the 14th meeting all-time between the two teams with the Toreros enjoying a 13-1 record against the Tigers.
