SAN DIEGO - San Diego men's tennis (9-10, 5-3 WCC) honored seniors Nico Borter and Garrett Kurtz on Saturday and defeated San Diego State (5-15) 4-2 at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Center. 

In doubles, the Toreros got off to a good start at Marvin Schaber, and David Norfeldt won 6-2 on court two. However, the Aztecs won the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court one. 

After SDSU pushed the lead to 2-0 due to a forfeit on court six, San Diego responded by winning the first set on court's one through five. Holmgren won his 14th match of the season with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court one, which cut the Aztec lead to 2-1. Norfeldt tied the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory on court three

Kurtz put the Toreros on the brink of victory with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court four, and the match was clinched by Schaber, who won 6-1, 6-3 on court five. Borter was leading 6-3, 5-4 when the match was clinched. 

The two seniors were honored with a ceremony between the doubles and singles matches. San Diego finishes the season with a 7-3 record in their newly renovated home.
