SAN DIEGO - August Holmgren was named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, the conference announced on Wednesday. Along with Holmgren, both David Norfeldt and Garrett Kurtz earned WCC All-Academic honorable mention honors.

This season has been a parade of accomplishments for the redshirt junior as he was named WCC Player of the Year and advanced to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championships, earning All American honors in the process. He was named first-team All-WCC Singles for the third time in his career. Holmgren finished the season with a 16-4 record and was ranked No. 42 in the final ITA Men's Singles Rankings. Holmgren holds a 3.6 GPA while earning his degree in Theater Arts/Performance Studies.

Norfeldt carried a 3.34 GPA ,while majoring in Business Administration. The redshirt junior was named to the All-WCC second team in singles and the All-WCC first team in doubles with Holmgren.

Kurtz maintained a 3.38 GPA, while majoring in History. The senior finished the year with a 5-5 record, including earning the match-clinching victory in the Toreros 4-3 win at Gonzaga.

For Holmgren, it is the third time he has earned All-Academic honors while it is the second for Kutz and the first for Norfeldt.
