Toreros Fall to Redhawks in Double Overtime

Seattle scores in 104th minute to get past San Diego

SAN DIEGO — San Diego women's soccer (3-1) fell to Seattle (2-1-1) 3-2 in double overtime on Saturday night in Torero Stadium.

The Toreros took the lead early in the first half on a strike from Bekah Valdez. Sara Evans took the ball up the wing and whipped a low cross through the box that found Valdez wide open at the back post.

The Redhawks equalized soon after the half and then took the lead in the 72nd minute.

Delaney Jannone provided the equalizer in the 85th minute that would eventually send the game to overtime. She took a cross from Jamie Goralski and side-footed it past the keeper.

The first overtime period was a back and forth affair that ended with a header wide from Michaela Foster

Seattle ended up with the winner in the second overtime.

The Toreros look to get back in the win column as they continue the homestand next Thursday against Long Beach State at 7 p.m. (PT).
