Toreros Fall Against Aztecs

SDSU tops San Diego 18-6

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego women's swimming team (0-1) opened the season with a loss to San Diego State in a pentathlon meet. The meet was held at the University of San Diego Sports Center Pool on Friday afternoon.

The meet was a total time scored event, with the Toreros' Hannah Hintermeister (3), Callie Johnson (2), and Shelby Nicolaisen (1) collecting the points.

True freshman Abby Muaddi tied for first in the backstroke leg of the pentathlon with a time of 59.14 seconds. She was the only Torero to take a top five finish on the day.

The Toreros' next meet will be at the Pepperdine Invitational. At last year's event, the Toreros defeated Loyola Marymount and were defeated by the Waves. That meet will take place on Saturday, October 9.
