Pioneers Travel to San Diego

Denver comes to town for Saturday night showdown

SAN DIEGO - After the first road test of the season, the Toreros are back at home taking on the visiting Denver Pioneers in the final nonconference contest of the season. The match will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday inside Torero Stadium.

San Diego (4-4) has been up and down in the nonconference slate, winning four of their first five, before dropping their last three. Denver (5-4) has dropped their last two, but hold wins over Power Five opponents Kansas State and Utah.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Toreros dropped both games last week, falling to No. 3 UCLA 2-0 and then falling to UC Santa Barbara on the road 1-0.
  • San Diego managed 12 shots against the Bruins and Gauchos combined.

ALL-TIME AGAINST THE PIONEERS
  • This will be the third matchup all-time against the Pioneers. 
  • In the previous meetings, the home team has always been victorious. 
  • The last meeting took place in 2017 in San Diego, with the Toreros winning 3-1.
