SAN DIEGO—The Toreros will travel to Spokane, WA to play Gonzaga at McCarthey Athletic Center on Saturday, January 15 at 2 p.m. PT. Coming off a 32-point win against LMU on Thursday night, San Diego is determined to continue their four game winning streak. 

THE BREAKDOWN
In their fourteenth game of the 2021-22 regular season, San Diego defeated LMU 80-48 at Gersten Pavilion on Thursday, January 13. The top scorers were Sydney Hunter, Laura Erikstrup, Steph Gorman, and Kasey Neubert. Leading the Toreros in double-digits was Hunter with 14 points, Erikstrup with 11, followed by Gorman and Neubert with 10 each. Erica Martinsen set a career high of eight assists beating her previous record of four against Fullerton on December 8, 2020. Overall, the Toreros shot 83.3% from the free throw line, 48.5% from the field, 37.5% from the three-point line.

On defense, the Toreros collected 35 rebounds and 22 steals. Leading the team's rebounding efforts were Jordyn Edwards and Kasey Neubert with six each. On the other side of the court, Edwards and Steph Gorman led the team in steals with five each. Other notable contributors on defense include Kendall Bird, Ayanna Khalfani, and Edwards with one block each. 

The Toreros are 10-4 (2-0 WCC) ahead of Saturday's matchup against Gonzaga 11-4 (2-0 WCC). This is the 71st time the teams will play each other in program history.

San Diego holds a 23-48 all time record against Gonzaga with a four game losing streak. Their last match up took place on February 20, 2020 and resulted in a 69-47 loss under head coach Cindy Fisher.
