Toreros Host Saint Mary’s on Thursday Night

San Diego looks to secure a win at home

SAN DIEGO—The Toreros will host the Saint Mary's Gaels at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on Thursday, January 20 at 6 p.m. PT. Coming off a well-fought loss to Gonzaga, San Diego is ready to bounce back with a win at home. 

THE BREAKDOWN
In their fifteenth game of the 2021-22 regular season, San Diego lost to Gonzaga 76-66 at McCarthey Athletic Center on Saturday, January 15. Kiera Oakry had a stand-out performance setting a new career high of 24 points. To accomplish this milestone, Oakry shot 6-9 from the field and 3-4 from the three-point line. Other leading contributors on offense include Kylie Horstmeyer and Laura Erikstrup with eight points each. On defense, San Diego maintained their intensity to collect 10 steals and 36 rebounds. 

The Toreros are 10-5 (2-1 WCC) ahead of Saturday's matchup against Saint Mary's 8-6 (2-1 WCC). This is the 66th time the teams will play each other in program history.
