Women's Basketball Battles BYU in Provo, UT

The Toreros travel to Provo, UT to play BYU on Monday

SAN DIEGO — The Toreros will travel to Provo, UT to battle BYU to play on Monday, January 24 at 5 p.m. MT/4 p.m. PT at the Marriott Center. Following a tough contest on Saturday against BYU at home, the Toreros are looking for redemption after a 74-63 loss. 

In their seventeenth game of the 2021-22 regular season, the Toreros lost to the BYU Cougars on Saturday, January 22 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Leading the Toreros in scoring was Jordyn Edwards with 13 points, Kasey Neubert with 10 points, and Sydney Hunter with nine points. 
On defense, San Diego maintained their intensity to collect 13 steals and 31 rebounds. The Toreros also forced 19 turnovers on the BYU Cougars. 

The Toreros are 10-7 (2-3 WCC) ahead of Monday's matchup against BYU 15-1 (5-0 WCC). This is the 24th time the teams will match up in program history. 

LOOKING AHEAD
The Toreros will return home to play Portland on Thursday, January 27 at 5 p.m. PT at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. San Diego holds a 45-34 record against Portland with a two game winning streak. Their last matchup took place on February 18, 2021 and resulted in a 66-59 win under head coach Cindy Fisher
