LEXINGTON, Ky. — San Diego volleyball achieved a new second-highest ranking in program history on Monday afternoon, checking in at No. 3 in the AVCA Division I Women's Coaches Poll for the first time ever after winning its 15th consecutive match on Friday night.
The placement, which is up from the No. 4 position the Toreros held for the last five straight weeks from September 19-October 17, 2022, is just one spot away from the highest ranking in program history — No. 2 on September 16, 2013.

San Diego, which got as high as No. 19 last season, began 2022 at No. 25 (preseason) and moved up in each subsequent poll before sticking at No. 4. The Toreros have been nationally ranked in each of their last 25 seasons, including 11 Top 5 rankings and 26 total placements in the nation's Top 10.
No. 3 USD is back in action this Thursday (October 27) when it continues West Coast Conference play by hosting Portland. First serve in the Jenny Craig Pavilion is set for 7:00 p.m.
