DES MOINES, IA — After its PFL home opener was canceled due to Hurricane Ian related circumstances, San Diego Football (1-3, 0-1 PFL) travels to Drake (0-5, 0-2 PFL) to continue conference play.
LAST TIME OUT
• USD's home contest against Stetson on October 1 was canceled due to circumstances caused by Hurricane Ian.
• A week prior, Valparaiso defeated USD in the PFL opener after scoring 28 unanswered points, 28-21.
• USD took an early 14-0 lead, with touchdowns from QB Judd Erickson to WR Michael Carner and WR Vance Jefferson to WR Ja'seem Reed. Valparaiso scored touchdowns on three consecutive drives to take the lead early in the third quarter. Another score early in the fourth put the home team ahead 28-14. The Toreros made it interesting with a fumble recovery and 21-yard touchdown strike from Erickson to Reed, making it 28-21 with 1:49 left. Valpo sealed the win with the ensuing kickoff recovery.

• The Toreros hold a 19-10 advantage in the all-time series, including nine straight wins. Last season, San Diego earned a 13-10 victory. Muhindo Kapapa registered three sacks and Pablo Tager tied the program record with a 53-yard field goal.
