WHAT TO WATCH FOR

  • San Diego welcomes four newcomers to the roster for the 2022-23 season. Transfers Jess Finney (Washington) and Claire Gallagher (Lafayette) join the team as sophomores, while freshmen Melesungu Afeaki and Veronica Sheffey get set for their first season in San Diego.
  • San Diego is off to a tremendous start on the glass, recording their most rebounds in a single game since 2020 in the win over Biola.
  • The team followed that up with another huge rebounding margin at Portland State and now lead the WCC in rebounding margin (20.5) and offensive rebounds per game (19.0).
  • The Toreros have started the season 2-0 for the first time since the 2019-20 season, when they finished 20-11.

  • The Toreros are seeking their first win over a Pac-12 opponent since a 59-54 win over Arizona on Nov. 21, 2015 in the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
