OFFSEASON RECAP
Steve Lavin, a proven winner who guided UCLA and St. John's to eight NCAA Tournament appearances in 11 years, was hired as head men's basketball coach at the University of San Diego on April 7, 2022. Lavin accumulated a record of 226-133 (.630) with 10 postseason appearances. He has led his programs to eight NCAA Tournaments, including five Sweet 16 appearances and an Elite Eight. Lavin also reached 20 or more wins on nine different occasions. Lavin quickly added 12 new players to the roster, including two Pac-12 transfers in Stanford's Jaiden Delaire and Oregon's Eric Williams Jr. Leading scorer Marcellus Earlington, Jase Townsend, Wayne McKinney III, and Yavuz Gultekin are key returners from last season. Other newcomers include Weber State transfer Sigu Sisoho Jawara, Lehigh transfer Nic Lynch, Bucknell transfer Deuce Turner, Bendji Pierre, and Jeremiah Nyarko. Lavin also added eight staff members, including three assistant coaches.

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Sonoma State went 2-25 (3-19 CCAA) last season. Sophomore forward Jaylen Wells returns after leading the team with 12.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Senior forward Nick Klarman also returns after averaging 9.8 PPG and 3.7 RPG.
