Women’s Basketball Ends Non-Conference Slate at San Diego State

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's basketball program (6-4, 0-0 WCC) will conclude the 2022 non-conference schedule with a trip down the road to face local rival San Diego State (8-2, 0-0 MWC) on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., in Viejas Arena.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • San Diego turned in one of their best offensive performances of the season, draining eight three pointers en route to a 73-57 win over CSUN on Tuesday night.  
  • Jess Finney and Laura Erikstrup each went for career-highs, as Finney registered 17 points on 5-for-7 shooting from distance, while Erikstrup tallied 16 points and five rebounds.
  • In addition to a season-high in three pointers made, the Toreros also tallied a season-best 21 assists as a unit.
 
OPPONENT HISTORY
  • The Toreros trail 15-25 in the all-time series, but won the last meeting on Dec. 1, 2021 by a final of 63-51.
  • In the most recent matchup, the Toreros got a double-double out of Sydney Hunter, who tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds.

  • The Toreros continue to turn defense into offense, as they lead the WCC in scoring defense at 58.4.
  • The Toreros also rank second in the WCC in offensive rebounds per game (15.0) which ranks 39th in the nation and rebounding margin (7.1), which is 58th in the nation.
