MALIBU — The Toreros travel to Mailbu to play Pepperdine Waves on Saturday, February 12 at 12 p.m. PT at Firestone Fieldhouse. Following a great win over LMU on Thursday, the Toreros look to continue their two game winning streak on the road. 

In their twenty-fourth game of the 2021-22 regular season, the Toreros defeated the LMU Lions 79-51 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. This was the second time this season that San Diego beat LMU by over 28 points.

Sydney Hunter led the Toreros' offensive and defensive efforts by recording 21 points and 11 rebounds. This marks Hunter's second consecutive double-double and fourth this season. Other key contributors on offense were Steph Gorman with 16 points, followed by Kiera Oakry and Erica Martinsen with 11 points each. 

On defense, San Diego collected 41 rebounds, 17 steals, and forced 28 turnovers on the Lions. Steph Gorman led the team in steals and set a career high of eight in a single game. 

The Toreros are 12-12 (4-8 WCC) ahead of Saturday's matchup against Pepperdine 7-11 (3-6 WCC). This is the 85th time the teams will match up in program history.

The Toreros will host Pacific on Thursday, February 17 at 6 p.m. PT. San Diego holds a 19-11 record with a one game winning streak. Their last contest took place in Stockton, CA on February 7 and resulted in a 81-77 win under head coach Cindy Fisher.
