Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men's Tennis Sweeps LMU, 4-0

SAN DIEGO – In the WCC opener, the No. 25 University of San Diego men's tennis team dominated Loyola Marymount on Friday, 4-0.

The Toreros earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 (#60 August Holmgren and Gui Osorio) and No. 3 (Marvin Schaber and David Norfeldt). #7 Holmgren won at No. 1 singles, followed by Iiro Vasa at No. 3 and Alex Stater at No. 4.

"We did a very good job setting the tone of the match from the beginning of the doubles point," said head coach Ryan Keckley. "We came out firing on all courts and played our brand of tennis. We need to have more urgency at the beginning of singles on a few courts. We were slow to get firing and that costed us a few first sets. Overall, I was very pleased with our performance today. We are excited for the opportunity against a very good Oregon team."

USD improves to 4-1 on the season, and will remain home to compete against Oregon on Sunday.
