SAN DIEGO – The No. 25 University of San Diego men's tennis team earned its fourth straight win on Sunday, defeating Oregon, 4-0.
 
The Toreros earned the doubles point with wins at No. 2 (Will Davies and Iiro Vasa) and No. 3 (Marvin Schaber and David Norfeldt). In singles play, Vasa quickly earned a 6-4, 6-1 win before Will Davies (6-3, 6-2) and Marvin Schaber (6-1, 7-5) clinched it.
 
"The boys and the crowd did a wonderful job creating a fun, competitive atmosphere today," said head coach Ryan Keckley. "We were expecting an all-out war with Oregon as they are a competitive and motivated group. It all started with the energy we brought during the doubles point. We captured the momentum early and never took our foot off of the gas pedal. I continue to be impressed with our three teams and how committed we are to understanding our doubles identity as a unit. In singles, we are still not firing on all cylinders yet. This is a process driven group though, and I know down the stretch we will be playing confident tennis.  I want to congratulate Iiro Vasa on a fantastic weekend!  He has made a major impact in both singles and doubles for this group in the few short weeks he has been here. We expect big things for him in the years to come at San Diego."
