SAN DIEGO—The Toreros will host the Santa Clara Broncos on Saturday, February 25 at 4:30 p.m. in their final home contest of the regular season. 

The Toreros are 15-13 (6-9 WCC) ahead of Saturday's matchup against Santa Clara 14-13 (8-9 WCC). This is the 80th time the teams will match up. Their last contest took place on February 5, 2022 and resulted in a 84-89 loss at Santa Clara. 

THE BREAKDOWN
In their twenty-ninth game of the 2021-22 regular season, San Diego defeated the Portland Pilots 61-53 at Chiles Center on Thursday, February 24. Leading the Toreros in scoring was Kylie Horstmeyer who set a new career high of 16 points. Following Horstmeyer was Kendall Bird with 11 points and Sydney Hunter with 10. 
Overall, the Toreros shot 52.6% from the free throw line, 45.3% from the field, and 37.5% from the three-point line. 

On defense, San Diego collected 36 rebounds and 13 steals. Jordyn Edwards currently leads the WCC in total steals, 64, and steals per game at 2.67. 

LOOKING AHEAD
The Toreros conclude the regular season by hosting Santa Clara and look ahead to the WCC tournament. The WCC Tournament begins on Thursday, March 3 and will continue through Tuesday, March 8. The time and date the Toreros will be playing is dependent on their final seating in the WCC conference. Stay tuned for more information.
