SAN DIEGO — The Toreros return home to host the LMU Lions on Thursday, February 10 at 6 p.m. PT at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Following an exhilarating win against Pacific on Monday, the Toreros look to continue their winning streak at home. 

In their twenty-third game of the 2021-22 regular season, the Toreros defeated the Pacific Tigers 81-77 at the Alex G. Spanos Center in Stockton, CA. San Diego overcame an eight-point deficit to secure a win on the road. 

Leading the Toreros' offensive and defensive efforts was Sydney Hunter who set new career highs in scoring and rebounds while recording her third double-double of the season. Sydney Hunter scored 29 points and 14 rebounds against Pacific to set a new career high. Hunter had her best offensive performance of her career and shot 7-12 from the field, 100% from the three-point line, and 14-17 from the free-throw line. To make her accomplishment even sweeter, she recorded her third double-double. The last time she achieved a double-double was against San Francisco on January 8, 2022. 

Other key contributors on offense were Kiera Oakry with 15 points and Steph Gorman with 14 points. On defense, San Diego collected 36 rebounds, nine steals, and forced 19 turnovers on the Tigers. 

The Toreros are 11-12 (3-8 WCC) ahead of Thursday's matchup against LMU 8-13 (3-8 WCC). This is the 81th time the teams will match up in program history.

The Toreros will travel to Malibu, CA to play Pepperdine on Saturday, February 12 at 12 p.m. PT. San Diego holds a 39-46 record with a four game winning streak. Their last contest took place at home on February 15, 2021 and resulted in a 82-59 win under head coach Cindy Fisher.
