SAN DIEGO – The University of San Diego men's basketball team (14-15, 7-9 WCC) will head into the West Coast Conference (WCC) Tournament as the No. 7 seed, beginning play against No. 10 Pepperdine (7-24, 1-15 WCC) on Thursday at 8:00 PM.
The winner will move on to play No. 6 Portland on Friday at 8:00 PM.
The tournament will be held at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, NV from Thursday, March 3 to Tuesday, March 8.

SEASON REWIND
After going 7-6 in non-conference play, San Diego got off to its best start in WCC play since 2008 with a 6-3 record. A tough February schedule, including five games against top-4 seeds in the conference, slipped the Toreros back to the No. 7 seed. Senior

SCOUTING THE WAVES
Houston Mallette (13.7 PPG), Maxwell Lewis (11.0 PPG), and Mike Mitchell Jr. (9.0 PPG), were each named to the All-WCC Freshman Team. Junior forward Jan Zidek adds 13.5 points per game. Pepperdine led the WCC in turnovers forced per game (13.29) and rank 31st in the NCAA in total assists (458).
