SAN DIEGO – In the last match of the regular season, the No. 19 University of San Diego men's tennis team swept Saint Mary's, 4-0, to remain perfect in conference play and earn the Regular Season Championship.
"I'm proud of this team for what we have done up to this point in the season," said head coach
Ryan Keckley. "To capture 20 wins is a feat that every team hopes to accomplish. The culture that has been created by our seniors this year has been exceptional. They have been working together day in and day out towards May. It starts with practice and preparation and ends with practice and preparation. We are excited to get to work this week and head to Ojai this Wednesday."
USD earned the doubles point with 6-4 wins at No. 2 (
Sacchitt Sharrma/
Will Davies) and No. 3 (
David Norfeldt/
Marvin Schaber).
In singles play, the Toreros secured wins at No. 4 (Norfeldt), No. 6 (
Will Davies), and No. 2 (
Gui Osorio).
San Diego ends the regular season with a 20-3 (9-0 WCC) record.
