SANTA CLARA, CA – In the final game of the 2022 season, the University of San Diego softball team fell to Santa Clara, 3-1.

Amanda Limon notched San Diego's RBI with a sacrifice bunt in the top of the fifth.

Madison Earnshaw and
Courtney Rose each pitched three innings, with the latter allowing just one run and striking out three.

The Toreros drop to 20-34 (5-9 WCC) on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Santa Clara led off the bottom of the first with a triple. The next batter quickly brought the runner home with an RBI single.
- In the top of the third, Sofia Delgado doubled to right center with one out, but USD's next two batters grounded out.
- The Broncos added another run in the bottom of the third, hitting an RBI triple.
- Santa Clara extended its lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth on a double steal.
- The Toreros cut the deficit in the top of the fifth. Clareese Santiago opened the frame with a double to right center, and Arisa Tovar sent her to third with a single. Limon put down a sacrifice bunt to score Santiago.
