SAN DIEGO — San Diego volleyball released its full 2022 schedule today, as announced by head coach
Jennifer Petrie.
The Toreros' schedule features 14 home games at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, 11 on the road, and three neutral site contests, with 18 West Coast Conference matchups plus 10 non-conference games against some of the nation's most competitive volleyball programs.Â
USD will begin its season on August 26 against Pitt at the Texas A&M Invitational. The road swing will continue with a pair of matches in the Cardinal Classic at Louisville before the Toreros return to San Diego for their home opener on September 9 against SMU to kick off the USD Invitational. San Diego's first home stint of 2022 will also include hosting the USD/SDSU Challenge on September 16 and 17, with UCLA visiting the Jenny Craig Pavilion for the second consecutive season on Friday night before rival San Diego State makes the quick trip across town on Saturday.
Other non-conference highlights include matchups with Texas A&M, Hawaii, Louisville, Ohio State, Utah, and UCONN before WCC play begins on September 22 versus Pepperdine. USD will complete home-and-home series with each of the WCC's nine women's volleyball teams in 2022, both hosting and visiting Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount, San Francisco, Santa Clara, BYU, Portland, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, and Pacific.
San Diego's regular season will conclude on November 22 at conference rival BYU.
The Toreros won 20 games in 2021 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 12th straight year, marking the 25th postseason appearance in USD volleyball history. San Diego will return 11 letterwinners in 2022, including All-WCC First Team selections

Grace Frohling, who was named to the AVCA Pacific South All-Region Team alongside Lukes and earned a selection to the 2022 USA Women's Collegiate National Team. All-WCC Honorable Mention
Kylie Pries and All-WCC Freshman Team selection
Haylee Stoner are back as well, and will be joined by transfers Madi Allen (BYU),
Gabby Blossom (Penn State), and
Breana Edwards (Indiana) in addition to four incoming freshmen (
Olivia Bennett, Kate Galvin, Maya Kitna, and Grace Oliva).
