POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – San Diego football (1-4, 1-1 PFL) is set to resume Pioneer Football League play on the road this Saturday, traveling to Poughkeepsie, New York to take on Marist (2-3, 2-1 PFL).
Kickoff against the Red Foxes is set for at 9:02 a.m PST.

USD is looking to get its second win in conference play to remain in the PFL title game hunt. Entering Saturday, the Toreros are 1.5 games back of St. Thomas for the conference lead after having a BYE last week.
LAST TIME OUT – Davidson 55, San Diego 33
• USD remained in the game, trailing by one at halftime. However, Davidson outscored USD 21-3 in the third quarter and was unable to pull off a comeback, losing 55-33.
How It Happened
• Both teams scored on their opening drives as USD immediately responded with a 7-yard touchdown grab by junior wide receiver

• After the Toreros limited Davidson to a field goal to end the first-quarter scoring, USD took its first and only lead on a 1-yard touchdown run by senior running back
Isaiah Williams to make the score, 13-10 with 14:30 remaining in the second quarter.
Davidson regained the lead on a 3-yard touchdown run to make it 17-13 before Torero junior kicker
Aidan Lehman made a 33-yard field just before halftime.
• The Wildcats opened the scoring with 14 points, both on long touchdown runs from 38 and 78 yards, respectively.
USD was able to get the lead down to 12 with a 38-yard field goal from Lehman before Davidson scored its third rushing touchdown of the third quarter to give them a 38-19 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.
• That Wildcat touchdown to end the third quarter would be the first of 21 consecutive points as Davidson recorded two rushing touchdowns from 4 and 66 yards out to extend the lead to 52-19.
• USD was able to get on the board in the final eight minutes with two touchdown passes. Sergent found junior wide receiver
Ja'seem Reed from 12 yards out with 7:44 remaining and
Josh Heverly from 39 yards out for the final scoring of the game.

• Redshirt senior quarterback
Grant Sergent completed 22-of-39 passes for 408 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, despite being sacked six times.
• Senior running back
Isaiah Williams led the rushing attack for the Toreros, recording 13 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown.
• Redshirt senior all-purpose player
Re-al Mitchell, who had five carries for 28 yards, led the Toreros in receptions and yards, recording seven catches for 132 yards.
• Junior wide receiver
Ja'seem Reed was right behind Mitchell with six receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown.
• Junior wide receiver
Josh Heverly recorded three receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
• Defensively, senior linebacker Garett Carney led the way for the Toreros with 11 total tackles and a pass breakup followed by graduate senior linebacker
Jayden Wickware with eight tackles. Wickware also recorded two sacks.

• USD is a perfect 15-0 against the Red Foxes all-time.
• The last time the two schools met was on Oct. 5, 2019 when San Diego football defeated Marist, 31-7 at Torero Stadium.
• The last meeting in Poughkeepsie, NY was on Nov. 17, 2018 when the Toreros won 31-14.
