SAN DIEGO – A city rival awaits, as the San Diego men's soccer program (8-3-1, 2-0-0 WCC) matches up with San Diego State (6-2-3, 0-2-2 PAC-12) in the non-conference finale at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT

• The Toreros notched a game winning goal from Rhys Gourdie to improve to 2-0 in the WCC and beat Saint Mary's, 2-1 on the road on Oct. 7.
• Samy Kanaan added his fifth goal of the season, while Luis Ludosan made six saves in net for his seventh win.

 
WHAT TO WATCH FOR

• San Diego has started its title defense at 2-0 in conference play, after going 6-0-1 in the WCC last season.
• San Diego is seeking to become the WCC's first repeat champion since Saint Mary's in 2018 and 2019.
• The Toreros rank 16th in the nation in total assists (27), while also ranking 35th in total points (69).  
• In addition, the Toreros rank 20th nationally in assists per game (2.25), 26th nationally in goal differential (+11), 25th in assists per game (2.18) and 32nd in points per game (5.75).
• The goalies have also been stellar, as Ludosan and Donovan Parisian have helped the Toreros lead the WCC and rank 25th in the nation in goals against average (.833) and rank 30th in the nation in shutout percentage (.417).

 
TORERO TIDBITS

• Tunbridge now has 31 points in his last 33 games, dating back to Nov. 5, 2021 against Pacific.
• Tunbridge also ranks 21st in the nation in assists (six).
• Ludosan leads the WCC in save percentage at .824, which stands in 11th nationally.
• Ludosan also ranks 28th nationally and first in the WCC with a .765 goals against average.
• San Diego is undefeated when scoring two or more goals and scoring first so far this season.
• The Toreros have only lost two games in the last three seasons when they lead at halftime.
• Gourdie needs two more games to reach 50 played as a Torero.
