Stoner and Stivrins Lead USD Sweep at San Francisco

San Diego volleyball beats Dons in straight sets on Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Gym

SAN FRANCISCO — Four Toreros hit .350 or better on Saturday afternoon as San Diego volleyball (10-7, 6-1 WCC) earned its fifth West Coast Conference sweep of 2023, a 3-0 decision over San Francisco (8-11, 2-5 WCC) at War Memorial Gym.

The Toreros took the first and second sets by scores of 25-17, then held strong for a hard-fought 25-21 victory in the third.

Amber Stivrins led the match with 10 kills, helping USD out-hit the Dons .362 to .220. Haylee Stoner paced the San Diego defense with a game-high five blocks assists while also adding eight kills of her own.

USD has now won six of its first seven WCC matches of 2023.
