Final Home Game of the Season Awaits Women’s Soccer

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's soccer program (1-13-2, 0-4-1 WCC) concludes their 2023 home schedule on Friday, welcoming Pepperdine (7-3-5, 4-1-0 WCC) for a 7 p.m., game at Torero Stadium.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Toreros hung in there on the defensive end, but couldn't hold off San Francisco's offense the entire game, falling 3-0 at San Francisco on Oct. 21.
  • Talei Moodie led the team with four shots and was the main catalyst of the offense for much of the evening.
 
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
  • San Diego's offense is slowly rounding into form, with five goals in the last eight games.
  • The Toreros are averaging 8.8 shots per game over their last four games and recently tallied their first two-goal game of the season, where they finished with 12 shots.
  • The newcomers have inserted themselves into the offense, with Lexi Zandonella-Arasa as the leading goal scorer and her and Olivia Stone ranking in the top-five on the team in shots.
  • Since her return from injury, Kylie Perez has resumed high level play the center back position, continuously playing full 90-minute games and anchoring the back line as she pursues All-WCC Freshman Team honors.

  • Sophine Kevorkian (175) currently sits in eighth on San Diego's all-time saves list. Next up is Libby Bassett (177) in seventh.
  • Kevorkian leads the WCC and ranks 43rd in the nation in saves per game (5.27) and 50th in total saves (79).
  • All five of the highest single game shot totals by the San Diego offense have come either at home or in the city of San Diego.
