SAN DIEGO – San Diego football (1-6, 1-3 PFL) will conclude a two-game homestand this Saturday with a matchup against Morehead State, hosting the Eagles at Torero Stadium as USD celebrates its Homecoming and Family Weekend.
Kickoff on Saturday afternoon is set for at 2:00 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+, with Jack Cronin (Play-by-Play) and George Whitfield Jr. (Analyst) on the call. Live statistics will be available on USDToreros.com.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST MOREHEAD STATE
• USD is a perfect 15-0 against the Eagles all-time.
• The last time the two schools met was on Nov. 19, 2022, when San Diego defeated Morehead State by a score of 14-9 at Jayne Stadium in Kentucky.
• The teams' most recent meeting at Torero Stadium was on Nov. 6, 2021, when the Toreros beat the Eagles 10-3.
LAST TIME OUT – Drake 25, San Diego 20 (Torero Stadium)
• San Diego surged ahead with 42 seconds remaining last Saturday afternoon but could not hang on and secure its second Pioneer Football League win of the season, dropping a heartbreaking 25-20 decision to Drake on a last-chance Hail Mary.
How It Happened
• Drake got on the board first to begin the game, converting on a 37-yard field goal at the 7:12 mark in the first quarter to take a 3-0 lead, then the Bulldogs doubled their lead in the second quarter, this time making a 26-yard field goal to make it 6
• USD answered back with 8:55 remaining in the second when Murray grabbed his second interception of the season and returned it 83 yards for a touchdown, giving San Diego its first advantage of the afternoon as the score moved to 7-6 in the Toreros' favor.
• A third Drake field goal — this time from 50 yards out as the first half wound to a close — gave the Bulldogs a 9-7 lead going into the intermission. After the break it was San Diego that took the lead with a field goal, pulling ahead 10-9 after Lehman nailed one from 33 yards away.
• Drake converted on yet another 50-yard field goal at the 6:53 mark in the third quarter, pushing the Bulldogs back in front at 12-10, following that, the Bulldogs added on with their first touchdown of the afternoon at the 2:38 mark in the third quarter, completing a 49-yard touchdown pass to extend their advantage to 19-10.
• Lehman helped USD answer and made it a one-score game by converting a 51-yard field goal with 11:38 remaining in the game, cutting his team's deficit to 19-13.
• With just 42 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Williams sprinted a yard into the end zone to give USD the lead back at 20-19 after Lehman converted on the go-ahead extra point. A 38-yard Drake touchdown pass on its ensuing possession as time expired in the game followed, dealing the Toreros their third consecutive loss.

Dom Nankil entered the game in the second quarter and threw for 180 yards while completing 10 of 18 passes.
• Williams scored the Toreros' lone touchdown of the day and recorded 65 yards on the ground.
