SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's soccer program (1-9-1, 0-1-0 WCC) is set for a second look at LMU (6-5-0, 0-0-0 WCC) this season, hosting the Lions on Wednesday at 7 p.m., in Torero Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros were unable to recover from an early deficit, falling 5-0 at Gonzaga in the WCC opener on Sept. 30.
- Talei Moodie nearly scored her first goal of the season off a header from an Olivia Stone cross, but was narrowly ruled offside.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- San Diego continues to lead the all-time series against LMU 25-5-1, but will aim to snap a two-game skid.
- In the last meeting back on Sept. 23, the Toreros jumped in front early, off a Lexi Zandonella-Arasa goal, but could not hang on, falling 2-1 in Los Angeles.
- San Diego's offense is slowly rounding into form, as four of their top-five shot outputs this season have come in the last six games. The Toreros scored in back-to-back games against California and LMU.
- The newcomers have inserted themselves into the offense, with Zandonella-Arasa as the leading goal scorer and two new players ranking in the top-three on the team in shots (Stone and Zandonella-Arasa).
TORERO TIDBITS
- The Toreros rank 83rd in the nation in shot accuracy, standing at .500.
- Sophine Kevorkian (161) currently sits in ninth on San Diego's all-time saves list. Next up is Karen Cook (162) in eighth.
- Kevorkian (29) now stands alone in 10th on San Diego's all-time charts in career starts at goalkeeper. Her next start would tie her with Libby Bassett (30) in ninth.
- Kevorkian leads the WCC and ranks 18th in the nation in total saves (65) and 19th in saves per game (5.91).
- Last time the sophomore faced LMU, she recorded 10 saves, good for the fourth such game of her career.
