SAN DIEGO — San Diego football (3-7, 3-4 PFL) scored a game-tying touchdown with 12:55 remaining in the fourth quarter on Saturday afternoon but could not hang on to secure a Senior Day win over St. Thomas, falling to the Tommies (7-3, 6-1 PFL) by a 20-14 margin in overtime at Torero Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Thomas struck first with a five-yard touchdown pass in the final seconds of the first quarter to establish an early 7-0 lead.
- San Diego answered back as the second half wound down with a short touchdown strike of its own, tying the game at 7-7 after quarterback Dom Nankil found tight end Peyton Smith in the endzone from six yards out.
- The Tommies utilized a 37-yard rushing touchdown to reestablish its lead with less than a minute left in the second quarter, sending the Toreros to the break trailing 14-7.
- Running back Isaiah Williams punched in a three-yard rushing touchdown at the 12:55 mark in the third quarter, knotting the score at 14-14.
- USD missed a 28-yard field goal attempt in the first possession of overtime and St. Thomas capitalized on its ensuing field position, scoring a game-winning, 16-yard rushing touchdown on third down to earn a 20-14 victory.

- Williams paced the San Diego offense with 163 rushing yards.
- Wide receiver Josh Heverly led the USD receivers with 43 yards on four catches.
