SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's basketball program (3-5, 0-0 WCC) is back home for the first time in nearly two weeks, welcoming local rival San Diego State (5-4, 0-0 MWC) on Thursday at 6 p.m., in the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

• The Toreros could not hang on to a strong first quarter start, falling at USC on Sunday afternoon.
• Kylie Horstmeyer was the bright spot on a tough afternoon, matching a career-high 18 points and adding four rebounds.

 
OPPONENT HISTORY

• San Diego resumes the lengthy all-time series with their local rival, but trail 15-26 in the all-time series.
• The Toreros fell in the last meeting at San Diego State, despite 17 points from Kiera Oakry.  

 
WHAT TO WATCH FOR

• The Toreros are also second in the WCC and 40th in the nation in blocks per game at 4.8.
• Harsimran Kaur ranks third the WCC in both blocks (12) and blocks per game (1.50).
• Five of the next six games for the Toreros will take place at home.
• The Toreros have made an effort to control their turnovers in recent weeks, with their four lowest totals coming in the last five games.
• Seven Toreros have recorded a career-high in points this season, including Hortsmeyer and Veronica Sheffey with team-highs of 18 points.
