Track & Field Wraps Up Opener at Ross & Sharon Invite

POINT LOMA, Calif. – The San Diego track & field program wrapped up competition in their season opening event on Saturday, competing at the Ross & Sharon Invite on the campus of Point Loma Nazarene.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The day opened with the women's 1500m, as Maggie Duba led the way for the Toreros in her collegiate track & field debut with a 23rd place finish.
The big event of the day was the 5000m, as the women fielded several contenders.
Emerging from the pack was Aryam Jaimes, who blazed her way to a new personal best of 18:30.83 to take ninth place. Macey Holt also finished in the top-10 with a time of 18:41.91.
In the men's event, Jake Coleman and Ian Converse picked up where they left off during the cross country season with top-15 finishes.
Coleman shaved over 20 seconds off his previous best 5000m time to take home a team-best 13th.
