SAN DIEGO – The San Diego softball program (6-15, 0-0 WCC) dropped the finale of the San Diego Classic to Boston University (15-5, 0-0 Patriot), falling 10-1 in five innings on Sunday afternoon at the USD Softball Complex.

The Toreros took of three of four games this weekend in the event co-hosted with San Diego State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Terriers were the first team to score, taking advantage of two errors in the opening inning by the Toreros to take a 1-0 lead.
- San Diego nearly responded, with two runners reaching base in the first inning, but were held off the scoreboard.
- Boston University expanded their lead to 4-0 in the second inning, but the Toreros had a quick response in the bottom half of the frame.
- After an Arisa Tovar single, Amanda Limon laced a double to the left center field wall and drove Tovar all the way home from first base to cut the lead to 4-1.
- However, the Terriers were able to answer with two more runs in the third inning to expand their advantage, which would continue to grow throughout the remainder of the game.
- Izzy Owen kept her hot streak going in the fourth inning with a leadoff single and got into scoring position, but was unable to get home.
- Boston University would ultimately secure the run rule victory by expanding the lead to 10-1, despite a scoreless inning of relief from Ashley Daugherty in the fifth inning.

- Taylor Johnson extended her career-long hitting/on-base streak to six consecutive games.
- Daugherty extended her scoreless innings streak to 6.1 innings, over which she's struck out nine batters.

The Toreros will make a short trip to Phoenix, Ariz., to face Grand Canyon for one game on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN Plus.
