LONG BEACH, Calif. – The San Diego track & field program completed a two-day stint at the Beach Invitational, hosted on the campus of Long Beach State on Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Fresh off a first-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase on Friday, Daniella Hubble led the way for the Toreros in the 1500m on Saturday.
• Hubble finished ninth in the event with a season-best time of 4:50.23, while teammate Daniela De La Torre Garcia placed 29th overall.
• Later on in the day, freshman Maggie Duba led the way for the Toreros in the 800m.
• Duba shaved over two seconds off her previous best 800m to finish first among her teammates with a mark of 2:23.37 and finish 26th overall.
• Freshman Lizzie McVey made her first collegiate 800m count, taking 33rd with a time of 2:31.05.
• McVey's result was particularly impactful, as she took home a first place showing in her heat.

• Daniela De La Torre Garcia – 29^th (5:28.33)

Women's 5000m

• Maggie Duba – 26^th (2:23.37)
• Sofia Green – 29^th (2:25.58)
• Lizzie McVey – 33^rd (2:31.05)
• Allie Lafferty – 36^th (2:37.25)
• Maddie Holt – 38^th (2:38.34)
