SAN DIEGO – In an epic four-plus hour battle among the last remaining undefeated WCC teams, No. 8 Pepperdine edged the No. 29 University of San Diego women's tennis team, 4-3.
 
San Diego won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Solymar Colling and Kailey Evans took down the No. 1-ranked doubles pair in the country, 6-4. After Pepperdine took court three, Claudia De Las Heras and Jordyn McBride upended the nation's 32^nd-ranked duo, 7-6 (5).
 
Singles play went back-and-forth, with Abigail Desiatnikov earning a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 4 and De Las Heras defeating #11 Janice Tjen, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.
 
The Waves tied the match at 3-3 with a three-set win at No. 6. Colling forced a third set at No. 1 with a 7-6 (6) win in the second, but eventually fell in the final set, 6-3.
 
San Diego falls to 10-9 (4-1 WCC) on the season, and will continue conference play at Saint Mary's on Friday.
