SEATTLE, Wash. – The San Diego women's soccer program (1-2-1, 0-0-0 WCC) were unable to bounce back from some early goals against, falling 5-0, to Washington (2-1-1, 0-0-0 PAC-12) on Sunday afternoon at Husky Soccer Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The goals would come quickly for the home side, as the Toreros fell into an early 2-0 deficit, behind two goals in the opening 13 minutes.
- Despite some pushback with a few shots on goal from Olivia Stone and Sara Evans, the Huskies were able to answer with two more goals before the half to lead 4-0.
- The start of the second half was more promising for the Toreros, as they held the Washington offense in check.
- However, Washington was able to put the game out of reach with another tally in the 71st minute to lead 5-0.
- A late and promising chance for the Toreros on a breakout with Lexi Nobles and Evans was stopped by the Washington goalkeeper and proved to be the final run of the afternoon.
