SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's soccer program (1-2-1, 0-0-0 WCC) is back at Torero Stadium, playing host to New Mexico (1-0-2, 0-0-0 MWC) on Thursday at 7 p.m., in the lone game of the week.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros were unable to complete the Seattle area sweep, falling to Washington on Sunday afternoon.
- Sara Evans recorded a strong chance on a breakaway late in the game, but the Toreros were unable to stop the high-powered offense.
- Sophine Kevorkian recorded five saves in net.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- San Diego leads the all-time series 1-0-1, with the two sides meeting for the first time since a 0-0, double overtime draw on Sept. 19, 2008.
- The newcomers have quickly inserted themselves into the offense, as three new players rank in the top-four on the team in shots (Olivia Stone, Mikayla Abrenica and Tamia Graham).
- Kylie Perez continues her strong adjustment to the college game, playing all 360 minutes of the season thus far at center back and contributing to two shutouts in the first four games.
- Perez and Kamryn Simpson have formed a strong duo at the center back position, with the freshmen helping to lead the way for two shutouts in the first four games.
