SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's soccer program (1-6-1, 0-0-0 WCC) returns to the friendly confines of Torero Stadium for the first time in more than two weeks, hosting California (2-3-2, 0-0-0 PAC-12) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros dropped a 4-0 decision to San Diego State on Thursday night at Snapdragon Stadium.
- Both teams played in front of 2,533 fans at the home of the National Women's Soccer League's San Diego Wave.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- San Diego trails 1-3-2 in the all-time series against California, dropping the last two meetings.
- Talented freshman defender Kamryn Simpson is back after missing three games due to injury. Rated as the No. 131 prospect in the country before her debut season, Simpson jumped right back into action with a full 90 minutes against San Diego State.
- The newcomers have quickly inserted themselves into the offense, as two new players rank in the top-four on the team in shots (Olivia Stone and Mikayla Abrenica).
