- After a defensive clearance by Ethan Warne, Mason Tunbridge took possession of the ball in the defensive third of the pitch.
- The London, England, native turned the corner on his defender and sped down the sideline, before delivering a cross into the box onto the feet of a wide-open Oliver Rhoades, who made no mistake and gave San Diego a 1-0 lead.
- San Francisco finally earned their first shot on goal in the 70th minute, but Luis Ludosan was sharp and made the save.
- The Dons were unable to strike further, despite a pair of late corner kicks, as San Diego's defense preserved it's fifth team shutout.
