HOW IT HAPPENED – SAN DIEGO 5, LMU 3
- After the Toreros took the opener on Friday, the Lions looked to respond early in game two and were able to strike for a run in the first inning, despite pitcher Mo Wimpee allowing no hits.
- However, the Toreros would not go quietly and responded in the bottom half of the frame.
- Amanda Limon singled to lead off the inning and Taylor Johnson reached on a hit by pitch, which would set up Tele Jennings.
- Jennings laced a double to left field to drive home both runners and give San Diego a 2-1 lead.
- LMU were able to tie the game in the third inning, as a pair of Torero errors allowed the Lions to get their first hit of the game home.
- Nevertheless, the Toreros offense would immediately respond in the bottom of the third inning.
- Johnson singled and Joecellia Roberts and Jennings each walked to load the bases for Arisa Tovar.
- Tovar would drive in two runners with a single down the left field line and gave the Toreros a 4-2 advantage.
- In the fourth inning, the Toreros kept up the pressure, as EJ Joyner, Carly Ruiz and Limon all tallied singles, before Johnson drove in a run with an RBI single of her own to make it 5-2.
- Wimpee would polish off a fourth inning of two-hit softball, before giving way to Kelsey Tadlock in the circle.
- Tadlock breezed through the fifth inning, but LMU would get a run back in the sixth inning to make it 5-3.
- However, Tadlock finished off a three inning save with a one-two-three frame to secure the win.

- Limon once again led off the game with a single, but was immediately driven home by a Johnson double to make it 1-0.
- Roberts extended the lead on the very next at bat, lacing an RBI double of her own and putting San Diego up 2-0.

- Braegelmann would work around two hits in the second inning and locked down a scoreless third inning.
- However, LMU would get a run back in the fourth on a dropped fly ball in short right center field to make it 2-1.
