SAN DIEGO — University of San Diego Associate Vice President/Executive Director of Athletics Kimya Massey on Monday afternoon announced the Torero Athletic Fund, which will serve as the official fundraising arm for USD Athletics. 

Beginning July 8, 2024, the Torero Athletic Fund (TAF) will introduce new initiatives, benefits, and experiences for all alumni, fans, and friends who support the department philanthropically. The Championship Investment Fund (Athletic Director's Discretionary Fund), the Bernie Bickerstaff Diversity and Inclusion Fund, and USD's sport-specific giving clubs will continue to operate under the umbrella of the TAF. 

"We are extremely excited to launch the Torero Athletic Fund, which will continue to provide support for our nearly 500 student-athletes who participate in all 17 sports," said Massey. "It is imperative in today's landscape that we provide opportunities for all of our amazing donors, alums and other stakeholders to participate in our giving programs. Your direct support launches dreams, fuels winning experiences and creates leaders for our future graduates. This new format will allow for an increased level of giving that allows USD Athletics to remain competitive at the highest levels of intercollegiate athletics."

Membership to the Torero Athletic Fund begins at $100 to any athletic designation. Those who have contributed $100 or more since January 1, 2024 are already considered valued members of the Torero Athletic Fund. Members will now have access to revamped benefits and experiences.
