Men's Soccer Ranked No. 21 in United Soccer Coaches Poll

SAN DIEGO – Following another strong weekend that included a draw and a quality road win, the San Diego men's soccer program has been ranked as the nation's 21st best program by the United Soccer Coaches poll on Tuesday afternoon.

The back-to-back reigning WCC champions are having a strong start to their 2024 campaign with a record of 3-0-2 that includes draws over then-ranked Power Four opponents Duke and Washington at Torero Stadium. San Diego also posted their most goals in a match since they beat Rider 11-0 at home on September 17, 2006, when they took down Lipscomb 8-1 on their home pitch on August 29.

It's been a strong start to this week for the Torero program as student-athletes Samy Kanaan and Donovan Parisian were named the WCC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. while Cesar Bahena and Luis Ludosan took home the same hardware the week prior.

During last season's run to the NCAA Tournament, San Diego reached as high as No. 12 in the same public rankings.

The Toreros will continue their road trip this week as they will first take on UC Irvine on Friday, September 13 at 6:00 p.m., and will then head to Riverside for a match up with California Baptist on Monday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m.
