Women’s Cross Country Shines at Biola Invite

Fullerton, CA — San Diego cross country turned in several strong finishes at the Biola Invitational on Friday.

The women's team delivered multiple standout performances, securing 3rd place overall out of 16 teams. Leading the way was Grace Maurer, who earned a top ten finish, placing 7th with a time of 17:42.1, followed by Aryam Jaimes in 13th place with a time of 17:49.1.

On the men's side, Senior Jake Coleman led the day's efforts with an impressive race, securing 9th place overall with a time of 24:52.5. 

"Our teams have made significant strides in their development and growth, but there are always opportunities to improve." said head coach William Guarino after the race. "I was particularly impressed by Jake's performance on the Men's side and the tremendous courage Grace displayed. Her initial push of the pace and warrior spirit not only inspired her women's team but also challenged them to race at a higher level."

Rounding out the women's team scoring was Rebecca Bronstein, who placed 22nd with a time of 18:23.4, Maggie Duba in 26th at 18:40.0, and Jillian Lange in 28th at 18:43.3.

"The pack mentality has been a key factor in our teams' success, and I look forward to us continuing to work together in our training. As we approach the critical part of our competitive season, our unity will be our strength, launching us into the championship season."
