SAN FRANCISCO – In the fall tennis season-opening Battle in the Bay, Toreros made both the consolation singles and doubles finals, winning the tournament's consolation doubles title on Sunday.
 
It was the duo of redshirt junior Stian Klaassen and graduate student Savriyan Danilov that took home the doubles final, going 3-1 at the tournament after a main draw opening round tiebreak loss.
 
Danilov also battled to the consolation final in singles, however falling in the final to Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason No. 42 Kenta Miyoshi of Illinois Sunday. Danilov himself was ranked No. 91 in the preseason rankings on Aug. 27.
 
Also competing in singles was No. 106 Klaassen, winning his main draw first round match over No. 109 Casper Christensen of Arizona in straight sets Thursday. He would fall in the second round to eventual champion from the field of 32, Carl Emil Overbeck of California, ITA No. 56.
 
Several Toreros are back in action in a week's time at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. From Sept. 23-29.
