SAN DIEGO – Hannah Read's semifinal run highlighted women's tennis' USTA SoCal Intercollegiate Championships on home courts over the weekend.
 
Read led the Toreros at the USTA event with three wins on the weekend eventually falling to ITA national No. 52 Emilija Tverijonaite of Arizona State in straight sets Saturday. Sophomore Kristina Nordikyan also collected two wins in the tournament but fell in the quarterfinals.
 
Read and Nordikyan also fell in the first round of doubles play at the Hogan Tennis Center.
 
Toreros Women's Tennis is back action next as ITA No. 89, San Diego senior Kailey Evans takes on the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C..
