  • The Toreros then went on a run of their own as H. Rhodes scored six straight points with 1:30 left in the quarter to even the game at 35 as the Lions took a timeout.
  • Horstmeyer was able to score yet another layup for San Diego's final points of the quarter as LMU led 39-37 with 10 minutes to go.
  • San Diego was able to score first in the fourth quarter as Horstmeyer put home a layup that even the score at 39-all with 8:19 left in the game.
  • It would remain a back-and-forth quarter for both teams as Horstmeyer nailed another jumper before a 5-0 LMU burst put them ahead 50-45.
