Women's Basketball Hits the Road to Face Colorado State

The Toreros will be playing their first ever game in Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Returning to the road for a Monday night matchup in the Rocky Mountains, the San Diego women's basketball team (1-3, 0-0 WCC) are set to face off with the Colorado State Rams (3-0, 0-0 MWC) on November 17 at 5:30 p.m. PST from Moby Arena.

Monday night's matchup will be the first ever meeting between the Toreros and Rams in Fort Collins, as the two sides have faced off twice before in San Diego.

USD will be looking for another strong performance from freshman guard Olivia Owens who totaled 14 points and dished out four assists in last Thursday's game against Arizona State.

TIME TO BOUNCE BACK
  • The Toreros are looking to respond after falling short against the Sun Devils by a 79-47 final score in their last game.
  • USD will look to continue their strong work on the glass as they were even in rebounding department against ASU, and did even better on the offensive glass securing four more boards than Arizona State.
  • Making a nice adjustment from beyond the arc against ASU, the Toreros knocked down six total three point shots and after the first quarter posted a 43% team shooting percentage as more outside shots started to fall.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS COLORADO STATE
  • Monday evening's matchup in Fort Collins will be just the third ever meeting between the Toreros and Rams as USD won both of the previous two contests between the two schools.
  • It has been over 30 years since the two sides last competed against each other, as San Diego earned a 76-72 home victory on Janyary 11, 1992 at the USD Sports Center Gym.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
  • Colorado State enters Monday evening's game with a perfect 3-0 mark to the start the new season as they've picked up victories over: Weber State, Long Beach State and Gonzaga.
  • Leading the way for the Rams in the early portion of the season has been the play of senior guard Lexus Bargesser, who's averaging 17 PPG and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 56% from the field.
  • Doing great work on the inside for CSU, senior guard Hannah Ronsiek has accumulated the most rebounds on her team averaging 5.3 boards per game. Besides her strong rebounding numbers, Ronsiek is a force on defense as she was named to the Mountain West All-Defensive Team in 2024-25.
