SAN DIEGO – The University of San Diego men's soccer coaching staff has been named the United Soccer Coaches West Region Coaching Staff of the Year, the coaches' association announced on Thursday afternoon.
Under eighth year head coach
Brian Quinn, the Toreros posted a 13 win campaign as the program made West Coast Conference history by becoming the first men's soccer program to win four straight conference championships. San Diego played a tough schedule from the start as they faced a total of six ranked opponents during the 2025 season and posted an impressive 7-1-1 record in conference play against top-notch opponents.
Assisting Coach Quinn during the 2025 season were coaches
Mike "Nico" Nicholson,
Frankie Sanfilippo and
Mario Miranda as the quartet helped the Toreros keep their conference crown and further cement the team's status as one of the premiere men's soccer programs on the west coast.
After the team's historic regular season, San Diego earned the ninth overall seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament as they picked up a first round bye and hosted their round two match at Torero Stadium.
In total, nine USD men's soccer student-athletes earned either All-WCC First Team, Second Team or Honorable Mention recognition. Quinn was named the WCC's Coach of the Year for the second straight year,
Lucca Adams took home WCC Goalkeeper of the Year, while
Ethan Warne was named the WCC Defender of the Year.
The San Diego men's soccer program is looking forward to the 2026 fall season as they will be seeking their fifth straight WCC crown.
