SAN DIEGO – The West Coast Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon the complete 2025 Softball WCC All-Academic Teams and Honorable Mentions.
USD softball had three total student-athletes earn spots on the All-WCC Academic Team with McKenna Braegelmann, Alyssa Hernandez and EJ Joyner each receiving recognition. The Toreros also had three players who were chosen as All-WCC Honorable Mentions, with Mikalyn Emanuelli, Emma Giaime and Kelsey Tadlock each earning that distinction.
Braegelmann and Hernandez are graduate students studying psychology and leadership studies respectively, while Joyner is a senior studying real estate. This marks the third time in Braegelmann's USD career that she's earned all-conference recognition for stellar academics as she made the all-academic first team in 2024 and was an honorable mention in 2022.
Joyner makes her return to the all-academic team as she was selected in 2024, while Hernandez makes her first appearance on the list. On the honorable mention side, Emanuelli and Giaime were each honored in 2024 while Tadlock is making her debut on the conference's academic honorees.
To be considered, a student-athlete must have maintained at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to their team and in at least their second year at their school.
